Shopping for soccer cleats for your daughter can be a real headache. We get it. We are those parents now, and we were those teenagers, tweens, and young girls at one point ourselves. When she finally (no, really… FINally) finds a pair that she likes and you can afford… they don’t fit.

Now imagine if fit and comfort were the default and all you had to do was find the right color and pair that fits the budget? That’s our goal. We want you to see IDA and know that comfort is on the way.

So how can you go about finding the perfect fit for your daughter in IDA’s newest lineup of girl’s soccer cleats? First, you can check out this size chart for IDA Youth Next Gen and IDA Youth Travel soccer cleats and turf shoes.

You’ll notice that the first column says Girl’s/Women’s and the second column says Youth / Unisex. What’s that about?

Historically, youth sizing in footwear has been unisex, which within the US footwear sizing system can cause confusion when girls are making the switch to US Women’s sizes.

We’re proud that women do not have to convert from a men’s size to find their perfect pair of soccer cleats because knowing their women’s shoe size is enough. We’re now so excited to bring that same concept to girls by creating our own GRLSFIT sizing that transitions them seamlessly into our WMNSFIT sizes starting at size 5 women’s (US).

Once your new IDA Youth soccer cleats arrive, the main things to look for to ensure a proper fit are:

  • Toe Room: Preference for space at the toes varies widely for players; some prefer a full thumb’s length and some prefer no space at all! We at IDA really value foot health, and so we suggest keeping some space at the toe box so that your feet can lie naturally in the shoe and fully transfer power to the ground. This is especially important for growing feet! However, be careful as you also don’t want too much space such that your feet are slipping around in the shoe. Ultimately, you should choose based on what makes your feet feel comfortable!

  • Heel Fit: The heel should be snug but not painfully tight. A secure heel fit prevents slippage within the cleat, providing stability during rapid movements.

With the introduction of IDA Youth cleats, we hope your daughter will be able to experience the comfort of IDA even earlier in her soccer journey and then continue on as an IDA gal for the many years she’ll be playing into adulthood!
